Practical Training

Students of all social disciplines

For some of the workcamps described above Open Houses Network is looking for camp leaders, either as guides and instructors for the manual work or as social leaders for the social guidance of the groups. The instruction of the camps can be recognized as a practical training for students of social and pedagogic disciplines. The projects or international workcamps usually last several weeks, requiring preparation, work afterwards and general taking care of the groups. Required language skills are good English and German. Camp leaders have to take part necessarily in the introduction seminar. The evaluation seminar is optional but it is as well recommended to take part.

Students of architecture or related disciplines and professionals

As every year there is the opportunity for students of architecture, constructional engineers and students of related disciplines to join in the projects of Open Houses Network. The work can be recognized as a practical training. Especially during the Building Weeks Open Houses Network is looking for well-educated professionals, for example, craftsmen, who want to take part in the work and support the other professionals and volunteers with their knowledge and know-how.
